Saturday Morning Run - Beaver Lake

Driving Directions:

From Issaquah / I-90:
Take exit #15 (Lake Sammamish State Park).
Turn left and go over the freeway onto the Renton/Issaquah Road, which becomes SE 56th Street.
Follow past Costco, the Fed Ex depot, and the 76/Brown Bear station.
At the signal, turn left onto E. Lake Sammamish Parkway.
Continue about one mile.
Turn right onto SE 43rd Way, which becomes SE 228th Ave.
Continue about 1.5 miles up the hill to SE 24th Street.
Turn right at intersection of SE 24th and continue following signs to Beaver Lake Park.

From Redmond / SR 520
SR-520 East to Redmond/Fall City Road Exit (SR-202)
Turn right at the end of the exit.
Follow Route 202 for approximately 2.5 miles.
Turn right onto Sahalee Way at the Gray Barn Nursery.
Sahalee Way becomes 228th Avenue NE.
Continue several miles past Sahalee Golf Course, Sammamish Library, and Skyline High School.
Turn left at the intersection of SE 24th Street and continue following signs to Beaver Lake Park

Breakfast: Breakfast on picnic tables at the park shelter. Staples like coffee, juice, cereal and bagels will be provided. Feel free to bring a dish to share if you are inclined.   


Course Description

There are three suggested courses: 4.3 miles, 6.5 miles and 9.3 miles. All courses are a mix of paved streets and paved paths. All routes start at Beaver Lake Park on SE 24th St. Sammamish. Course maps will be provided on day of run. The park has ample parking and public restrooms.

NOTE: This is NOT the part of the park off 244th Ave SE with softball fields and playground equipment.

Route #1 (4.3 Miles) - Route is mapped at http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=219388
This is the shortest loop around the lake, following the Beaver Lake Triathlon running course.
West on SE 24th Street Left (south) on 244th Ave. SE
Left (east) on SE 30th St.
Left on 252nd Ave SE
Follow to right onto 28th St. SE Left on Beaver Lake Way SE
Left on E Beaver Lake Dr. SE
Stay left on E Beaver Lake Dr. SE
Follow around lake back to the park.

Route # 2 (6.5 Miles)
West on SE 24th Street
Left on Audubon Park Dr. SE (just before 228th and entrance to Pine Lake Park)
Straight through to SE 32nd Way
Left on SE 32nd Way.
About a half a mile up, take paved path on right parallels road.
Stay on path or road for a little over a mile, then left on crosswalk at E Beaver Lake Dr. SE.
Turn left to stay on E Beaver Lake Dr. SE. and left again at the T, staying on E. Beaver Lake Dr. SE.
Follow to left around lake to back to the park. (E. Beaver Lake Dr. becomes W. Beaver Lake Dr.)

West on SE 24th Street Left on Audubon Park Dr. SE (just before 228th and entrance to Pine Lake Park)
Straight through to SE 32nd Way Left on SE 32nd Way.
About a half a mile up, take paved path on right parallels road.
Three miles into the run, take path on right just before you get to the school.
Follow path to end (restrooms at the park there), and turn left on SE Klahanie Blvd.
Klahanie Blvd. becomes Klahanie Dr. SE.
Follow to end at Issaquah Fall City Rd. SE.
Take sidewalk/path on left just before the road.
Stay straight on the path, paralleling the road.
Path will eventually swing left to parallel SE Beaver Lake Rd.
Turn right at crosswalk onto E Beaver Lake Dr. SE.
Turn left to stay on E Beaver Lake Dr. SE. and left again at the T, staying on E. Beaver Lake Dr. SE.
Follow to left around lake to back to the park. (E. Beaver Lake Dr. becomes W. Beaver Lake Dr.)
